One of the greatest strengths of The International University lies in its diversified faculty who represent a wide variety of national origins and cultures. Their common bond is a dedication to teaching in an environment that fosters the student’s individual growth in the contemporary world. Many have been educated in both the United States and Europe. Instructors are committed to providing students with the highest quality instruction. They are actively engaged in the academic process and realize they are making a lasting impact on many lives – one at a time!
IU seeks faculty members who are qualified by years of experience in university teaching and/or professional training. Many faculty members are actively engaged in a wide range of projects and scholarly endeavors enabling them to remain current in their academic disciplines. Working in the context of the American system of higher education, including small classes which allow optimum interaction, the students gain the background they need to build an exciting, challenging, and successful career. A low student/faculty ratio facilitates personal contact both inside and outside of the classroom and assures students the individual attention they require.
IU realizes that the classroom experience is one of the vital keys to success. Therefore, classroom attendance is required and faculty require that students be prepared to engage with the material being presented, conduct teamwork with their student colleagues, and present their own educated opinions on the course material.
One of IU’s vice presidents regularly states, "We don’t train specialists; we train people!" Truly, at IU students are never just a number. IU does its best to assure that the learning experience of each student uniquely prepares him or her, while keeping in mind each student’s own particular challenges, hopes and dreams.
