Non-Matriculating Students
A non-matriculating student is a student who is not enrolled in an academic program working toward a degree. These students generally fall into one of two groups:

  • those who have already completed a degree but desire to take courses for career advancement, professional preparation, or to update their skills, or
  • visiting students who are on a study-abroad program and intend to transfer credits earned at IU to their home institution. (These students receive approval of their courses from their home institution).

Non-matriculating students are not required to fulfill all the general admission criteria. However, if they reside in Austria, they must have a valid residence permit. In addition, they must have adequate English skills to complete the desired course or courses.

(See the tuition & costs section for non-matriculating tuition fees).
