IU is located a few blocks from downtown Vienna and the famous Ringstrasse (Ring street). The IU facility contains 8 floors which house the academic functions, administrative offices, computer lab, library, and the student lounge area.
IU maintains a limited presence library with books in the various disciplines related to its majors and general education requirements, as well as periodicals in business and diplomacy.
IU encourages all students and faculty to become a member of the Austrian National Library, one of Europe’s most prestigious libraries. For only 10 Euros per year, members have access to over 260 full-text databases which can be accessed from anywhere in the world. See http://www.onb.ac.at/.
In addition, approved IU students may receive borrowing privileges at the Vienna Economic University. After demonstrating credibility at IU in academics and keeping financial contracts, students may receive a letter authorizing them to gain access to the Economic University’s thousands of holdings in the English language.
IU encourages each student to bring his/her own laptop when coming to study. This is an invaluable tool in preparing the many research projects and papers which form part of the academic career at IU. To assist students in having continual access, IU has installed wireless Lan.
For students who do not have a laptop or do not have it with them, computer access is available in the Computer Lab., Room 208. For faculty, computers are located in the Faculty Room – Room 307.
