The International University (IU) is based on the American system of university education, providing a globalized perspective in its curriculum. In 1980, IU was chartered in the United States in the State of Alabama as a private degree-granting institution on the university level. In 1981 IU was registered in Austria.
IU’s programs in Business Administration and Diplomatic Studies are patterned on the American liberal arts educational system which is respected throughout the world. In the unique international setting of IU, the educational approach is given a global focus. Thousands of students from over 100 nations have benefited from the unique training which IU provides. IU prepares students to find innovative solutions to the complex problems of the 21st century, and to achieve their maximum God-given potential.
The Mission Statement of The International University, “Preparing students from around the world to serve in the world,” was officially formulated in 1988, when Prof. Dr. Wil C. Goodheer became the institution’s second president. Under the direction of Dr. Otis Gatewood, Founding President, a similar goal of preparation was sought for the previous decade. In the years following 1988, significant growth and metamorphosis occurred in transforming IU to its current status as an institution known for its strong academic programs which lead graduates to success in their careers and in further studies at other universities around the world.
Since 1981, IU has the privilege of serving students from more than 100 different nations on 5 continents!
